“The Handyman Company did a great job from beginning to end on the backsplash in my kitchen. Their communication was excellent, they showed up when they said they would and their workmanship was incredible. I had talked to a few companies prior and it was like pulling teeth trying to get those guys to follow up. The Handyman Company is run like a company is supposed to be run. I have already booked them for another job on my house and would recommend them to anyone looking for any type of work on their house.”
“Hi Brian, stop by and he was very helpful in solving my door problem thanks for your service”
“On time, price as quoted and went the extra mile. Easy and efficient. Would use the service again.”

“David Becerra and his crew are highly skilled and very hard working people. They are diligent, trustworthy and very competitive in terms of pricing. I recommend them.”

What We Believe
The Values Behind the Heart
Anyone can print values on a wall. Ours read like hiring advice on purpose: they are the exact things Florida homeowners are told to check before hiring a licensed and insured handyman, and we built the company to pass every check.
Your home is where your heart is
The heart in our logo is not decoration. Caring for your home is our business, and we treat every house like the people we love live there.
We do the work ourselves
We are not a referral company and we do not hand your project to a stranger. Our own experienced handymen and contractors do every job, start to finish.
Honesty you can hold in your hand
Your price is guaranteed in writing before work begins. The quote you approve is the bill you get.
We pick up the phone
You reach a person when you call, and if you leave a message we call back within one business day. Simple, and rarer than it should be.
We stand behind the work
Every job carries a one year warranty. If something we did is not right, we come back and make it right.
Local, everywhere we work
Six Florida offices, and craftsmen who live in the communities they serve. You get neighbors, not a call center.

Florida Handyman License Requirements, Explained
Florida draws a legal line through handyman work. Without a state license, a handyman can only take on minor repairs: painting, drywall patches, cabinet installs, and similar small jobs. Remodeling, structural work, and anything the state defines as contracting requires a licensed contractor registered with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and hiring unlicensed help for that work can leave the homeowner holding the liability.
The first thing worth knowing: Florida does not actually issue a handyman license. There is no such category in state law. What the state licenses is contracting, through the Construction Industry Licensing Board under the DBPR, and its enforcement aims at unlicensed contracting: people taking on work that legally requires a license. A licensed and insured handyman company sidesteps the whole problem by holding contractor licenses outright.
That is why our licenses matter. The Handyman Company holds Florida certified contractor licenses CRC1336072 and CBC1258366, which means there is no legal ceiling on the work we can quote, from a drywall patch to a full remodel. We carry the insurance and bonding to match, and we will show you the paperwork before you ask.
Insurance is the other half of the protection. General liability coverage pays for accidental property damage during a job, and workers' compensation keeps a worker's injury from becoming the homeowner's problem. Ask any company you hire for a certificate of insurance and check the coverage and the dates; we carry the coverage our work requires and provide the certificates before you ask.
If you are comparing companies, it is a fair and simple test: ask for the license number, then look it up on the DBPR website at myfloridalicense.com. While you are at it, walk away from cash-only offers and from anyone who wants you to pull the permit yourself. Our numbers are here, and they have been active since long before it was a question anyone thought to ask.

About The Handyman Company: Common Questions
How long has The Handyman Company been in business?
The Handyman Company has served Florida since 1999, completing work for more than 100,000 customers across the state. Over half of the work comes from repeat customers and referrals.
Is The Handyman Company licensed and insured?
Yes. The company is licensed, insured, and bonded, and holds Florida state certified contractor licenses CRC1336072 and CBC1258366. Insurance certificates and licensing paperwork are ready before anyone asks.
Do you use your own employees or subcontractors?
Our own employees. The craftsmen who show up work for The Handyman Company, arrive in company trucks, and do the work with their own hands. We are not a referral network, and we do not hand your project to a stranger.
What warranty comes with the work?
Every job carries a one year warranty, from a single drywall patch to a full remodel. If something we did fails within the year, we come back and make it right.
How does pricing work?
You get the price in writing before work begins, and the quote you approve is the bill you get. Estimates are free, with no obligation.
Does Florida require a handyman license?
Florida has no license category called handyman. What the state licenses is contracting: remodeling, structural work, and permitted trade work fall under Florida Statutes Chapter 489 and require a licensed contractor, while minor repairs do not. That is why our contractor licenses matter. The Handyman Company works as a licensed contractor, CRC1336072 and CBC1258366, so there is no legal ceiling on the jobs we can quote.
How do I verify a handyman's license and insurance?
Look the license number up at myfloridalicense.com and confirm it is active and matches the business name on the estimate, then ask for a certificate of insurance and check the coverage and expiration dates. Red flags: no license number on the paperwork, cash-only payment requests, or pressure to pull the permit yourself. Our numbers are CRC1336072 and CBC1258366, and we hand over the documentation before you ask.
What is the difference between a handyman and a licensed contractor?
Scope. An unlicensed handyman is limited to minor repairs, while remodeling and anything Florida defines as contracting requires a licensed contractor registered with the DBPR. We field both kinds of work under one roof: handyman-scale repairs and licensed remodeling, with permitted electrical and major plumbing referred to the licensed trades that own them.
