“The Handyman Company did a great job from beginning to end on the backsplash in my kitchen. Their communication was excellent, they showed up when they said they would and their workmanship was incredible. I had talked to a few companies prior and it was like pulling teeth trying to get those guys to follow up. The Handyman Company is run like a company is supposed to be run. I have already booked them for another job on my house and would recommend them to anyone looking for any type of work on their house.”
“Hi Brian, stop by and he was very helpful in solving my door problem thanks for your service”
“On time, price as quoted and went the extra mile. Easy and efficient. Would use the service again.”
“I needed several openings around outdoor lights sealed. They did an excellent job and it was reasonably priced. Very happy with their work!”
“Great service and the repair was done to my satisfaction.”
“Very prompt, helpful and thorough. It’s not cheap, but you get quality work”
“David Becerra and his crew are highly skilled and very hard working people. They are diligent, trustworthy and very competitive in terms of pricing. I recommend them.”
“I have had the same handyman once before, and did the most incredible work at my home. I cannot thank you enough for work that was provided.”
“This company has excellent employees, very professional and respectful. I will call them again.”
“We are working with Noah Brooks on multiple projects. He is resourceful and very expert in a variety of specialties. Noah is our go to…”
What We Handle
Tub Removal & Walk-In Shower Build
The tub comes out, the wet wall gets prepped and waterproofed, and a tiled walk-in shower goes up in its place.
Low-Threshold & Curbless Options
Entry height matters more every year. We build low-curb and curbless showers where the structure allows, so getting in is a step, not a climb.
Tile & Niche Design
Wall tile, floor tile, and built-in niches for shampoo and soap, laid out with you before the first tile is set.
Glass Doors & Panels
Framed or frameless glass fitted to the finished opening, so the shower looks built in, not bolted on.
Grab-Bar-Ready Blocking
While the walls are open we can add solid blocking, so grab bars can be anchored properly now or years down the road.
Fixture & Lighting Updates
New valves, shower heads, and lighting installed as part of the conversion instead of becoming a second project later.
Dead Tub Out, Daily Shower In
Walk through most Florida homes and you will find a tub that has not held water in years. Everyone in the house showers, but the tub keeps its corner of the bathroom anyway, with a high wall to climb over and grout lines to scrub. A tub-to-shower conversion turns that dead space into a walk-in shower that fits how the household actually lives.
One of our crews handles the whole conversion: tub demo, plumbing rough adjustments through the proper trades, waterproofing, tile, glass, and finish. You approve a written scope and a guaranteed price before demo starts, and the finished shower carries our one year warranty. Many customers book this because they plan to stay in their homes as they get older, and a low or curbless entry makes the bathroom work for the years ahead.
Call 800-931-1106 for a free estimate. We will look at the space, talk through entry height, tile, and glass, and put the whole job in writing.

Entry, Walls, Glass: The Choices That Shape the Job
A conversion is really four decisions. Here is what each one actually trades off.
Entry height: low curb or none at all
A low curb is the straightforward build. Curbless means recessing or sloping the floor so water still finds the drain, and whether your bathroom supports it depends on the framing and drain position under the tub. We check that before we promise it.
How high the tile runs
Tile to the ceiling makes the shower read taller and leaves no painted drywall in the spray zone. Stopping at head height saves tile and labor. In a Florida bathroom we lean toward tiling anything that gets wet daily.
Glass: framed, frameless, or open
Framed glass costs less and forgives slightly out-of-square walls. Frameless shows off the tile and cleans easier. A fully open walk-in skips the glass, but only if the room is big enough to keep spray off the floor.
Controls and heads
We place the valve so you can start the water without leaning through the spray, and a handheld on a slide bar is the one upgrade almost everyone thanks themselves for, at every age.
Built for Florida
Why so many Florida tubs are on borrowed time
A big share of Florida's housing stock still carries the builder-grade tub that went in decades ago, back when a tub in every bathroom was the default. The houses stayed the same. The habits did not. Retirees, snowbirds, and working families here shower, and the unused tub survives mostly as the hardest thing in the house to clean and the riskiest thing to step over.
The climate raises the stakes on the build itself. A shower gets every surface wet every day, and Florida's moisture load never really lets up, so the waterproofing behind the tile and the sealed joints matter as much as the finish you can see. We build the conversion for this air, not just for the photo at the end.
Signs the Tub Should Become a Shower
- Nobody has run a bath in years, but everyone climbs over the tub wall to shower in it anyway.
- Stepping over that wall has quietly become the riskiest thing anyone does in the house all day.
- You dread cleaning it, because scrubbing a tub means kneeling on tile and reaching across a wall.
- You plan to stay in this house, and you know the entry height will matter more every year, not less.
- There is another tub in the house, so the one bathtub buyers might want is already covered.
Three or more sound familiar? Call 800-931-1106 and we will look at the space and put the conversion in writing.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion: Common Questions
Can any tub be converted to a walk-in shower?
Most can. The drain location, the framing, and what sits behind the walls decide the details, especially whether a curbless entry is possible. We look at all of that during the free estimate and tell you plainly what your bathroom supports.
Who handles the plumbing changes?
Rough plumbing adjustments go through the proper trades as part of the job. You still deal with one company, one crew coordinating the work, and one written price. You are not left hiring and scheduling the pieces yourself.
How much does a tub-to-shower conversion cost?
Entry style, tile, and glass set the range, which is why we look at the bathroom before quoting anything. You get one written number covering the whole conversion, demo through glass, and that number is the one on the final bill.
Should I add grab bars while you are at it?
At minimum, add the blocking. With the walls already open, solid blocking is a small addition that lets grab bars be anchored properly whenever you want them, now or years from now. Bars mounted into blocking hold; bars mounted into bare drywall do not.
Will removing the tub hurt resale?
Buyers in Florida overwhelmingly shower, and a clean walk-in shower shows well. Many homeowners keep one tub elsewhere in the house as a compromise. Either way, it is your house and your call, and we will build whichever serves you.
Is the conversion covered by a warranty?
Yes. The finished conversion carries our one year warranty, the same as everything else we build.
