Victor of The Handyman came to put in drywall in an attic and eve area. Single-handedly, he did amazing work, first lugging up the drywall, then fitting it perfectly in an uneven area on several walls. He arrived on time, worked incredibly hard and cleaned up afterwards.

The Handyman Company did a great job from beginning to end on the backsplash in my kitchen. Their communication was excellent, they showed up when they said they would and their workmanship was incredible. I had talked to a few companies prior and it was like pulling teeth trying to get those guys to follow up. The Handyman Company is run like a company is supposed to be run. I have already booked them for another job on my house and would recommend them to anyone looking for any type of work on their house.

What We Handle

Holes & Dents

Doorknob holes, anchor damage, dents from moving day. Cut, patch, tape, and finish so the wall reads as one clean surface again.

Cracks & Settling Lines

Corner cracks, seam cracks above doors and windows, and stress lines. We repair the crack and address the taping underneath so it does not just come back.

Ceiling Repair

Sagging seams, stains from an old leak, and damage from attic mishaps. Overhead finishing is its own skill, and our craftsmen do it every week.

Texture Matching

Knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finish. Matching the existing texture is what makes a repair disappear, and it is the step rushed patch jobs skip.

Full Sheet Replacement

When a section is too far gone to patch, we replace whole sheets, tape and mud the seams, and blend the new surface into the old.

Paint-Ready or Painted

We can leave the repair primed and ready for your painter, or match the paint and finish the job ourselves in the same visit.

The Repair You Cannot Find Afterward

Every wall takes a hit eventually. A doorknob goes through it, a moving day leaves a gouge, a settling crack creeps out of a corner, or a ceiling stain shows up after a roof leak. The repair itself is quick work for a drywall craftsman. Making the repair invisible is the part that separates a professional patch from a bad one, and that comes down to matching the texture around it.

The Handyman Company has repaired Florida drywall since 1999 with our own employee craftsmen, not a referral network. We cut out the damage, patch it, blend the texture into the surrounding wall or ceiling, and leave it paint-ready or painted, your choice. You get the price in writing before we start, and the work carries our one year warranty.

One patch, a whole hallway of dings, or every ceiling in the house: bring us the list and we will handle it in as few visits as possible.

Is This Worth a Pro, or a Saturday Project?

Honest answer: some drywall damage is a homeowner job. Here is when it stops being one.

  • The same crack keeps coming back after you fill it. That usually means the joint tape underneath has let go, and the fix is retaping the seam, not another layer of spackle.
  • A previous patch shows every time the light rakes across the wall. The texture was never matched. It can be cut out and done right.
  • The hole is bigger than your fist, or it is in a ceiling. Both need backing, staging, and overhead finishing skill, not a mesh sticker from the hardware aisle.
  • The wall is soft, bubbled, or stained. Moisture is involved, and the drywall is telling you to find out where it came from before anyone paints over it.
  • You have a list. One doorknob hole is a project. Ten dings, two cracks, and a ceiling stain is a visit from us, priced as one job.

If it really is one clean nail hole, save the call. For everything else, looking at it costs you nothing.

How Does a Drywall Repair Visit Go?

  1. 1

    Walk the damage with you

The craftsman looks at every wall and ceiling on your list, checks stained areas for moisture so we are not patching over a live problem, and writes up one price for the whole visit.

  2. 2

    Cut back to sound board

Damaged drywall gets squared off to solid material and backing goes in behind the opening, so the patch is anchored to something instead of floating in the hole.

  3. 3

    Patch, tape, and mud

New board is fastened, seams are taped, and joint compound goes on in thin coats with sanding between them. Rushing this stage is why cheap patches telegraph through paint.

  4. 4

    Match the texture

Knockdown, orange peel, or smooth, applied to blend past the edges of the repair so there is no hard line where new meets old.

  5. 5

    Prime, paint, and clean up

We prime the repair and paint it to match if you want us to, or leave it ready for your painter. Dust gets contained and cleaned up, and you walk the work before we leave.

Built for Florida

Florida walls have their own problems

Most Florida homes wear knockdown or orange peel texture, and both are unforgiving to a sloppy patch: get the spray pattern wrong and the repair shows from across the room. Our craftsmen match texture daily, so the blend is part of the job, not an upsell.

Humidity and summer storms are hard on drywall too. Rainy season roof leaks and AC condensation leave the ceiling stains we get called about most from June through October. If the stain is from an active leak, fix the leak first; then we repair what the water ruined, and the repair holds.

What Moves a Drywall Estimate

No two patch jobs price the same, and these are the honest reasons why.

How many repairs, and how big

A single patch and a houseful of dings carry different labor, but batching everything into one visit is the cheapest way to buy this work. Setup and drying time get shared across every repair.

Wall or ceiling

Overhead work is slower, needs staging, and demands more finishing skill, so ceiling repairs price above the same damage on a wall.

The texture on your walls

Smooth finish is the hardest to make invisible because there is no pattern to hide in. Knockdown and orange peel blend more forgivingly but need the right spray technique.

Whether we paint

Paint-ready costs less than painted-to-match. If the wall color has faded, painting corner to corner instead of spot-touching is sometimes the honest recommendation, and we will say so.

Drywall Repair: Common Questions

Can you match my wall texture so the repair is invisible?

Yes, that is the whole point of a professional patch. Our craftsmen match knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finishes daily, then blend the repair into the surrounding surface before paint. If the texture cannot be matched exactly in one small area, we will tell you up front and give you options.

Is one small hole too small a job to call you for?

No job is too small. That said, most customers batch it: the patch that prompted the call plus the other dings around the house, handled in one visit with one written price.

Do you paint the repair too?

If you want us to, yes. We can prime and leave it ready for your painter, or match the paint and finish the wall ourselves in the same visit.

My ceiling has a brown water stain. Can you just paint over it?

Not until the leak that caused it is fixed, or the stain comes straight back. Once the source is repaired and the drywall is dry, we cut out any damaged material, repair the ceiling, and finish it so the stain is gone for good.

How much does drywall repair cost?

Patch size, wall versus ceiling, and texture all move the number, so we look first and then put a price in writing. That number does not change after we start: the quote you approve is the bill you get, and looking costs you nothing.

Do you repair plaster walls too?

In many older Florida homes, yes. Plaster behaves differently than drywall, so tell us what you have when you call and we will send a craftsman who works with it.
