“The Handyman Company did a great job from beginning to end on the backsplash in my kitchen. Their communication was excellent, they showed up when they said they would and their workmanship was incredible. I had talked to a few companies prior and it was like pulling teeth trying to get those guys to follow up. The Handyman Company is run like a company is supposed to be run. I have already booked them for another job on my house and would recommend them to anyone looking for any type of work on their house.”

What We Handle
Custom Closets & Closet System Installation
Reach-in closets or a walk-in closet, big-box kit or designer system: we assemble it square, anchor it to studs, and align every shelf, rod, drawer, and shoe rack. Double rods and drawer stacks are where a closet earns the look the catalog promised, and your everyday clothes finally have a home instead of a pile. If the seller handed you a layout or design rendering, we install to that plan.
Garage Organization: Wall Systems & Garage Cabinets
Slat walls, track systems, garage cabinets, and hooks, mounted to carry real weight: bikes, ladders, tools, coolers. Getting it all up on the wall frees the floor, so the car gets its spot back.
Pantry & Laundry Shelving
Adjustable shelving in wire or wood, replaced or added, so the hardest-working small rooms in the house hold more and show it better, the laundry room included.
Overhead Garage Racks (Properly Anchored)
Overhead storage puts the seasonal items, the coolers, and the rest of the bulky items up and out of the way, and a ceiling rack is only as good as its anchoring. We fasten into framing, not just drywall, every time. Labeled plastic bins are the smart way to load that layer. They shrug off pests and heat, and you can read them from the floor.
Custom Storage Solutions, Built to the Space
Odd corners, sloped walls, deep closets: where no kit fits, we build simple, sturdy shelving to the space itself, so the awkward corner finally does some work.
Demo & Haul-Away of Old Shelving
The sagging builder-grade garage shelving comes out, the anchor holes get patched, and the wall reads like a new space before the first shelf of the new system goes up.

Closet and Garage Storage Installation, Without the Sales Pitch
Bought a storage system and it is still in the boxes? You are not alone. Plenty of companies will design and sell you an expensive custom system. Almost nobody wants to install the one you already bought. The instructions assume a perfectly flat wall with studs where the diagram says, and the whole project stalls in the garage it was supposed to organize. The car stays in the driveway.
That is the job we take, and we are glad to. We turn the boxes you bought into storage that actually works. Our own crews assemble and install closet systems, garage systems, pantry shelving, wall storage, and home office storage, anchored into studs, set level, and solid under a full load. Where a kit will not fit the space, we build simple custom shelving that does. The estimate is free, the price is guaranteed in writing, and the work carries our one year warranty.
Call 800-931-1106, tell us what you bought or what you need built, and we will get it on the wall properly. It is a humble job, and we still treat it like it matters.

From Boxes on the Floor to Gear on the Wall
- 1
Tell us what you have
The brand and system if you bought one, or the space and the stuff if you have not. Photos help us quote accurately. The right mix of wall, overhead, and closet storage starts with an honest list of what you own, and we will say up front if what you bought will not fit where you want it.
- 2
Lay it out against the real wall
We find the studs, account for outlets, switches, and the water heater, and adjust the kit's diagram to the room that actually exists, and if the seller gave you a design rendering, we install to it. This step is where most DIY installs go sideways.
- 3
Assemble square, anchor to structure
Components built true from the materials in the boxes, then fastened into studs and framing by our crew. Storage fails at the fasteners, not the shelves, so this is the part we are pickiest about.
- 4
Level, load, and clean up
Rods and shelves aligned down the run, the system loaded to prove it holds, packaging hauled out, and old anchor holes patched. The final result should look factory built, not garage built.

Built for Florida
No basements in Florida, so the garage does the job
Up north, the basement absorbs everything a household accumulates. Florida homes sit on slabs, so all of it lands in the garage and the closets instead. The garage here is the basement, the workshop, the sports locker, and the hurricane-supply shelf all at once, and most were handed a single row of sagging wire shelving to do it with. Our crews organize garages and closets every week, because in Florida garage storage is not a luxury. It is how the whole house keeps working.
Snowbird households feel it hardest. For part of the year the garage has to swallow an entire household's worth of gear, and the car still needs its spot when storm season comes. Wall systems and properly anchored overhead racks are how a Florida garage does basement duty without giving up the parking spot. Get the storage up off the slab and the same footprint has room for the workbench, the freezer, and the hurricane supplies where you can reach them when a storm is coming.
Kit, Track, Rack, or Custom
Four kinds of garage systems and closet systems, with an honest word on where each one belongs.
Big-box closet kits
Genuinely good products whose reputation suffers from bad installs. The difference between wobbly and rock solid is stud anchoring and level assembly, which is exactly the part we are there for.
Track and slat wall systems
The right answer for garages that keep changing: vertical storage whose hooks, shelves, and accessories move season to season, but only if the rail line itself is dead level and lagged into studs from end to end.
Overhead racks and bike storage
Racks are ideal for the light, bulky, rarely touched layer: coolers, holiday bins, camping gear. They hang from ceiling framing or they do not go up, and the heaviest gear stays on the wall or the floor where it belongs. Bike storage lives on wall hooks at shoulder height, so the bikes in everyday use come down without a ladder.
Custom built shelving
For the alcoves, deep closets, and odd corners no kit was drawn for. Simple, sturdy, painted or not, built to the actual space instead of forcing the space to fit a box, and it works as well in a guest room as a garage.

Closet & Garage Storage Installation: Common Questions
Who is the best handyman for closet and garage storage installation in Florida?
The Handyman Company assembles and installs the closet and garage systems you already bought, anchored to studs and level, and builds custom shelving where a kit will not fit. Employee craftsmen, a written price, and a one year warranty apply to every install, and six Florida offices have been doing this since 1999.
I already bought a closet system. Will you install just that?
Yes, and it is our favorite kind of storage job. Bring us the boxes from any brand or big-box store and we will assemble it, anchor it to the studs, and level it. You do not have to buy anything through us to get it installed right.
Can my garage walls and ceiling actually hold heavy storage?
They can when the load goes into the framing. We find the studs and ceiling structure and anchor there, never into bare drywall. If a spot cannot safely carry what you want to hang, we say so and find a spot that can.
How much does closet and garage storage installation cost?
The system, the space, and the wall prep set the price. Tell us what you bought, or what you need built, and you get a free consultation and a single written number for getting it on the wall properly. You know the full cost before the first hole gets drilled.
Can you put together a custom garage organization system without a kit?
Yes. We do not design and sell systems; the closet companies do good design work, and our job starts when their boxes reach your floor. When there is no kit at all, we walk the space with you, sort what hangs, what shelves, and what rides overhead, then build the right combination from track wall, racks, and custom shelving. No showroom markup. Want custom cabinets or built-ins instead? That is carpentry, and we do that too.
Do you install garage floor coatings too?
Yes. Our crews apply epoxy floor coatings on garage, porch, and patio slabs, and a storage project is the natural time for it: the racks and wall systems go up, the slab gets cleared, and the coating goes down before anything moves back in. Ask for the coating when you book the storage work and both land in one written price.
What if the kit is missing parts or the instructions are bad?
Welcome to storage kits. Our crews have assembled enough of them to work through vague instructions, and if a part is genuinely missing we will tell you exactly what to order and come back to finish once it arrives. No trouble at all.
