Chandeliers & Pendants
Heavy and awkward is our department. We hang chandeliers and pendants at the right height, which over a table usually means thirty to thirty-six inches of clearance, on a mounting bracket and hardware rated for the weight. The wires run through the support and the fixture ends up level from every angle.
Vanity & Bathroom Lighting

Swapping a fixture looks like a few basic steps, and it is, in the same way parallel parking is. Here is how our craftsmen do it on every job.

Power off, and proven off
The breaker goes off first at the panel. Then we double check the circuit is dead with a voltage tester at the fixture itself, not just the light switch. Safety steps come before ladder steps, because live wires overhead are how a simple swap turns into a shock.

The old light fixture comes down
Canopy loosened, wire connectors off, and the old fixture is lowered, not dropped. This is where a do-it-yourself swap stalls most often: house wires cut short by the last installer, brittle insulation, or a surprise nobody photographed before the ceiling was painted.

Check the box, the mounting plate, and the existing wiring
Most light fixtures hang on a mounting bracket or plate screwed to the electrical box, and the new bracket from the carton is the one to use. Confirming the box rating is the extra step that keeps a chandelier on the ceiling. If the older wiring behind it is brittle, we say so instead of covering it up.

Connect the wires in the right order
Black wire to black, white neutral to white, and the bare copper ground landed on the green grounding screw, each splice twisted tight under a proper wire nut. Fixture wires get trimmed to length with real wire cutters and strippers, every connection gets a tug test, and no electrical tape shortcut ever hides a loose splice.

Fixture weight and size
A vanity bar is a straightforward swap. A dining room chandelier is careful assembly, a rated-box check, and patient leveling, so it carries more labor than its box suggests.
Ceiling and ladder height
Fixtures over stairs and in two-story entries need staging and serious ladder work, which is exactly why those are the swaps that sit on to-do lists for years. Hand them to us.

- Clear the ladder path, and leave the power to us. We kill it at the breaker and verify with a voltage tester rather than trusting the wall switch.
- Point out any switch that misbehaves. A flicker sometimes lives in the switch, not the fixture, and a like-for-like swap while we are there is quick.
- Flag the dark spots. Where a box and switch already exist we can add a fixture. Where wire would need to be run, we will say plainly that an electrician comes first.
- Think about dimmers. Dining rooms and bedrooms are almost always happier on one, and it is an easy add at the existing switch.

Can you add a light where there has never been one?
