Nothing dates a house faster than its light fixtures. The brass dome in the hallway and the old glass bowl in the bedroom have probably been on your list for years. Swapping them is one of the simplest ways to make a home feel new again, and we would be glad to take that list off your hands.
You pick the fixtures, and our craftsman does the rest. The breaker goes off and the wires get tested dead. The old light fixture comes down, and the ceiling fixture box gets checked before the new mounting bracket goes up. Then the new light fixture is wired, hung level, and switched on. The old fixture and every scrap of packaging leave with us.

A Heavy Chandelier Goes Up on Hardware Built to Hold It
A chandelier over the dining table or a pendant over the kitchen island is the fixture people most want help with. It is heavy, it is awkward, and it has to hang dead level. Please do not try it from a kitchen chair. We would be glad to handle it.
Chandelier installation starts at the ceiling. Our craftsman checks that the box is rated for the weight and fastened to the framing, then mounts the bracket that came with the fixture. The chain or rod gets set to the height you want, the canopy is snugged to the ceiling, and the fixture is leveled from every side. Pendants that came loose get rehung on the right hardware, so they stay put.

Better Bathroom Light Starts With the Vanity Bar
The builder vanity bar that makes everyone look tired is one of the easiest things in the house to change. A new vanity light goes up centered over the mirror and square to the counter. It lights faces instead of foreheads, and the whole bathroom feels brighter the same day.
While we are there, a worn switch can become a dimmer in the same spot. Dimmers make bedrooms and dining rooms much easier to live with. A dimmer switch installation at the existing switch is like-for-like work, so it fits right into the visit. If the dimmer you picked does not match your bulbs, we will say so before it goes in.

The Light Fixture Installation Process
Swapping a fixture looks simple, and in good hands it is. The right tools help, but the safety steps matter most. Here is how our craftsmen do it on every job.

Power off, and proven off
The circuit breaker goes off first. Then we double check with a voltage tester at the fixture, because a light switch alone is not proof that no live wires are overhead.

The old fixture comes down
The canopy loosens, the wire connectors come off, and the old light fixture is lowered to the floor, not dropped. This is where a do-it-yourself swap often stalls, on house wires cut short by the last installer.

Check the ceiling box and mounting plate
Most light fixtures hang on a mounting bracket or plate screwed to the junction box, and the new one from the carton is the one to use. Confirming the electrical box is rated for the weight is the extra step that keeps a chandelier on the ceiling.

Connect the wires right
The fixture wires get trimmed to length, and any excess wire gets folded neatly into the box. Each splice is twisted tight under a wire nut, and the ground wire lands on the green grounding screw. Every wire connection gets a tug test, and no electrical tape shortcut hides a loose splice.

Hang it, then prove it
The fixture goes up on its bracket, following the manufacturer's instructions, and the shades and light bulbs go in. Then we restore power and work every switch before the ladder folds.

Fixture weight and size
A vanity bar is a straightforward swap. A dining room chandelier takes careful assembly and patient leveling, so it carries more labor than its box suggests.
Ceiling and ladder height
Fixtures over stairs and in two-story entries need tall ladders and a careful setup. That is exactly why those swaps sit on to-do lists for years. Hand them to us.

- Clear the ladder path, and leave the power to us. We shut it off at the breaker and test it rather than trusting the wall switch.
- Point out any switch that flickers or buzzes. The trouble sometimes lives in the switch, and a like-for-like swap while we are there is quick.
- Flag the dark spots. Where a box and switch already exist we can add a fixture. Where wire would need to be run, an electrician comes first.
- Think about dimmers. Dining rooms and bedrooms are almost always happier on one.
